Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc attended the inauguration ceremony of $ 2 billion in manufacturing organic light-emitting diode (OLED) screens at Trang Due Industrial Park

On the afternoon of Dec 4, 2017, Haiphong People's Committee in cooperation with LG Display Vietnam Co., Ltd in Haiphong held inauguration ceremony of the factory manufacturing and processing high-tech display products of LG Display Group (South Korea) at Trang Due Industrial Park, An Duong district, Haiphong city.

Attending the inauguration ceremony were: Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc; Lee Hyuk - Korean Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam; Le Van Thanh - Secretary of Haiphong Party Committee; Nguyen Van Tung - Chairman of the People's Committee; Han Sang Beom - Executive Chairman of LG Display Group; Do Trung Thoai - Head of Haiphong Economic Zone Authority and representatives of leaders of ministries, agencies of State and local.

LG Display Haiphong project has got total of investment capital $ 1, 59 billion with an area of 52.5 hectares. The goal and scope of the project produces all kinds of OLED displays for mobile devices with an output of 08 million products per month; OLED TVs with a capacity of 100,000 products per month.

At inauguration ceremony, Han Sang Beom - Executive Chairman of LG Display Group highly appreciated Vietnam is a country with unlimited potential, in the process of development with the fastest economic growth in the world. LG Display‘s factory was completed that is honor and great joy of Group. At present, LG Display is focusing on developing OLED technology – visible technology in the future, OLED technology applied with IT equipment as Smartphone screen, Smart watch screen and large television screen size….OLED will become the core element of the screen industry in the future. Mr. Han Sang Beom confirmed that Vietnam would definitely be the strategic partner of LG Display Group in global OLED market. The experience and technical capabilities accumulated in the recent of years, LG Display Corporation will develop the factory in Vietnam to become the world‘s leading factory in OLED screen technology in the future.

Le Van Thanh - Secretary of Haiphong Party Committee emphasized the inauguration ceremony event and official launch of LG Display project in Haiphong city, will contribute to promoting reengineering industry branch, boosting exports, increasing budget revenue and important contribution to local socio –economic development. Secretary of the City Party Committee praised the support, active coordination of the departments, units and People‘s Committee of An Dương District in the past. He affirmed that the city will committee to creating favorable conditions for businesses to operate smoothly, and that LG Display would be a component of the city's economy.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc praised the efforts of the staff, engineers, factory workers and the support of Haiphong ‘s Party, authorities and people.

The Prime Minister noted and believed LG Display contributed significantly to the construction of Haiphong into one of the famous electronic manufacturing cities of Vietnam; at the same time, LG Display has dormitories for workers and canteens for employees. Prime Minister wants LG Display will expand; especially the localization rate is higher and higher, safe and sustainable development.

In addition, the Prime Minister greatly appreciated the investment environment of Haiphong, which has been increasingly improved, becoming a bright spot for investment attraction, especially foreign investment.

On this occasion, Chairman of Hai Phong People's Committee decided to award the certificate of merit to LG Display CEO Han Sang Beom for outstanding achievements in the process of building factories manufacturing and processing high technology  screen products of LG Display./.
